What is ceramic fiber fabric?

Ordinary ceramic fiber is also called aluminum silicate fiber, because one of its main components is alumina, and alumina is the main component of porcelain, so it is called ceramic fiber. The addition of zirconium oxide or chromium oxide can further increase the use temperature of ceramic fibers.

Ceramic fiber products refer to industrial products that use ceramic fibers as raw materials and are processed to have the advantages of light weight, high temperature resistance, good thermal stability, low thermal conductivity, small specific heat and resistance to mechanical vibration. They are specially used for various high temperatures. , High pressure, easy to wear environment.

Ceramic fiber products are an excellent refractory material. It has the advantages of light weight, high temperature resistance, small heat capacity, good thermal insulation performance, good high temperature thermal insulation performance, and non-toxicity.

It is composed of a mixture of alumina and silica at approximately 50/50. By definition, carbon monoxide ceramics (such as alumina and zirconia) contain at least 80% of one oxide; they usually contain 90% or more of basic oxides and specialty products may contain almost 100%. Non-oxide special ceramic fibers such as silicon have also produced carbides, silicon nitride and boron nitride. Because there are several types of ceramic fibers, this fiber exhibits a series of chemical and physical properties.

Most ceramic fibers are white to milky white and are often polycrystalline or polycrystalline metal oxides. Ceramic fiber is used as an insulating material to withstand high temperatures due to its insulating properties and is mainly used in lining kilns. Products are in blankets, wood boards, felts, bulk fibers, vacuum forming or casting shapes, paper and textiles. Their light weight, thermal shock resistance and strength make them very useful in many industries. High temperature resistant ceramic blankets and plates are used as heat insulation materials in shipbuilding to prevent the spread of fire. Used for general heat insulation. Blankets, rigid boards and semi-rigid boards can be used for ship bulkheads and ceilings for this purpose. Ceramic blankets are used as insulating materials for catalytic converters in the automotive industry and aircraft and space shuttle engines. In the metal industry, ceramic blankets are used as an insulation layer inside the furnace. The board is used in combination with the blanket to insulate the furnace designed for production with temperatures up to about 1400°C. Ceramic plates can also be used as spare heat insulation materials for furnaces, fixed heat insulation layer steam generators, ladle linings for holding molten metal, and covering insulation layers of magnesium batteries and high-temperature reactors in the chemical process industry. Ceramic textile products such as yarns and fabrics are widely used in such final products as heat-resistant clothing, flame curtains for furnace mouths, thermal coupling and electrical insulation, gaskets and wrap insulation, and induction heating furnace coils Covering layer, braided sleeve cable and wire insulation, infrared radiation diffuser, fuel line and high-voltage portable flange cover.

Classification of ceramic fiber

Ceramic fiber is made by a double-sided needling process, and it is widely used in both high temperature and low-temperature environment. Its main classification is classified according to fiber state, taking ceramic fiber blanket as an example. According to different production processes, we generally divide ceramic fiber blankets into two categories, one is a spinning blanket and the other is a spinning blanket.

The diameter of fiber yarn: spun silk fiber is thicker, spun silk fiber is generally 3.0-5.0µm, spinneret fiber is generally 2.0-3.0µ

The length of the fiber yarn: the spinning fiber is longer, the spinning fiber is generally 150-250mm, and the spinning fiber is generally 100-200mm;

Thermal conductivity: The spinning blanket is better than a spinning blanket due to the thinner fiber;

Tensile and flexural strength: The spinning blanket is better than a spinning blanket due to thicker fiber;

Application of making ceramic fiber blocks: spun silk blankets are better than spin blankets because of the thicker and longer fibers. In the folding process of the block making, the blown fiber blankets are easy to break and tear, while spun silk fiber blankets can be folded It is very tight and not easy to break, the quality of the block will directly affect the quality of the furnace lining;

Application of vertical layering of large blankets such as waste heat boilers: Because the fiber filaments are thick and long, the spun silk blanket has better tensile strength and is more durable, so the spun silk blanket is better than the spinneret.

Ceramic fiber products

Ceramic fiber cloth

Ceramic fiber cloth is a woven fabric made of high-purity aluminosilicate-based ceramic fibers, reinforced with glass fiber filaments and optional alloy steel wires. The product is white, odorless and suitable for high temperature applications up to 2300°F.

Ceramic fiber board

It has high temperature stability, thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance. Low heat capacity, thermal conductivity. It has machinability and cutting performance. It can directly touch the flame and is easy to install and use. The use temperature of the product can be from 1000°C to 1800°C.

Ceramic fiber blanket

Ceramic fiber blanket is a low-density insulating material used in all types of high-temperature equipment. These blankets are flexible, light in weight, different in thickness, and easy to use in factories, refineries and factories. From use in kilns, boilers, furnaces and ovens to use as flexible pipe insulation, expansion joint seals, and chimney and air duct linings, ceramic fiber blankets can provide insulation and prevent high temperatures without producing asbestos Product-related hazards.

Ceramic fiber blankets (refractory blankets) can be made into rolls with various densities and thicknesses. All blankets are made of long, fire-resistant fibers, do not contain adhesives, and are needle punched.

They have excellent strength before and after heating. Except for hydrofluoric acid and strong alkalis, all blankets have excellent chemical resistance and are not affected by all chemicals.

The ceramic fiber blanket has a flat surface, a variety of capacities and specifications, good chemical resistance, high tensile strength, and meets various heat insulation requirements in different furnaces.

Can be used for refractory applications up to 3000°F (1650°C), and you can buy materials in various densities, widths and thicknesses. These blankets are designed to withstand high temperatures and chemical attack, and are lightweight, and can be easily installed in industrial environments as needed. Ceramic fiber blanket is a lightweight, efficient insulator, highly resistant to thermal shock and chemical attack.Products are spun from ultra-long, high-purity ceramic fibers to produce blankets with excellent handling capabilities. Ceramic fibers are made by overheating chemicals such as silica until they melt, and then spinning them into a hair-like shape. These strands can then be chopped and mixed with other chemicals to make new compounds or weave them into useful fibers.
